Jynx the cat

This week I am working on a few things in my temporary studio space.

I have discovered that Hooker’s green deep hue makes an ethereal background for any subject. I tried it on Jynx the siamese cat tonight.

I try to choose darker shades for the background of the subjects with light colored fur. I think it helps the whiskers to stand out a little better than on a lighter background.

I am a huge fan of ink in the dropper bottles too. Jynx has the most beautiful blue eyes. I used Daler Rowney Aquafine ink in Blue Ceruleum #112.
